You’ve added your group to hungryFriend and shared it with your network, but now you might be wondering, what comes next? Rest assured, we have a few tips if you’re hoping to gain more momentum on your fundraiser.
Sharing is the best way to keep your fundraising momentum going. HungryFriend has thousands of restaurants and partners, and each time one of your supporters shops, a donation is earned for your group! The best chance your fundraiser has of reaching a new audience is to be consistent and strategic in sharing it yourself first. Here are a few ideas for keeping the momentum going on social media:
- Post weekly social updates about the status of your fundraising and how the funds have helped your group so far. Be specific about how much you still need to raise and how you will use those funds - people are often more participate if they can see the impact they are making!
- Send a message to other groups that have a similar purpose to your group. There are a lot of public Facebook and Instagram groups out there, and many are filled with people who would love to contribute. This is a great option for organizers who may not have many personal contacts to share with.
Share outside of social media
There are many other ways to share and raise awareness. Here are some suggestions for other ways of sharing:
- Email - Share regular updates on your fundraising and include your share link. Ask if they could share your fundraising on your behalf.
- Phone calls or send text messages - Message people that might support your group or share; HF users can simply click the “Share” icon in the app to share on their own accounts.
- Print flyers - Include your fundraiser link or generate a QR code, which can be shared with friends, family and colleagues or posted on bulletin boards.
- Convert your referral link to a shortened bit.ly link, goo.gl link, or a QR code.
Challenge your donors
This is a perfect way to get your donors involved. The idea is to ask your donors to visit a participating restaurant or partner. This could be a group meet up, a small gathering, happy hour, or even ordering takeout. Someone that eats out once a week can earn on average $200 per year in donations! It all adds up, and we all eat!
This will allow your fundraising to reach an exponential amount of new people, with minimal effort from your supporters!
