Adding a linked payment account allows you to start earning donations at our participating restaurants and partners. If you did not add one in the sign up process, or wish to add more linked cards, follow the steps below.
Bitmo has partnered with Plaid, the leading financial services provider used by Venmo, Coinbase, Acorns, and American Express, to provide bank authentication for linked accounts.
How to add/update a linked card or account:
- Tap Menu from the navigation bar at the bottom of the app
- Tap Linked Accounts
- Tap '+ Add credit or debit card'
- Search for your bank in Plaid*
- Log in using your online banking credentials**
*If your search returns no results, be sure you are typing the full name instead of the acronym (e.g. search "San Diego County Credit Union" instead of SDCCU).
**To log in, enter your username and password the same way you would on your bank’s website or app. Keep in mind your bank may require multi-factor authentication through the use of a PIN, security question, or unique code. Be sure to follow all prompts to complete the verification process. If you have trouble logging in, contact your bank to reset your login credentials.
How to remove a linked card or account
- Tap the account you wish to edit
- Tap 'Edit' in the upper right hand corner
- Tap the icon to remove the card or account.
What is Plaid?
Plaid is a bank verification service that helps you connect platforms like Bitmo to authenticate your bank account safely and securely.
Connecting Plaid is simple, secure and convenient:
- Easily link a bank account using your secure online banking login and password
- Private and secure - AES 256 encryption, and no information entered is stored in Bitmo’s database
